10 Afghan Policemen Killed in Helmand Blast

At least ten Afghan policemen were killed in a roadside bomb blast in southern Helmand province on Thursday, local officials said.

The incident took place in Nad Ali district when a police vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb, Dawood Ahmadi, a spokesman for the provincial governor said.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Insurgents use Improvised Explosive Devices to target Afghan and foreign troops, but the victims of such attacks are often civilians.
