80 Taliban militants join peace process in Afghanistan

At least 80 armed militants surrendered to Afghan government and joined peace process in Afghanistan.

Afghan Intelligence Department, National Directorate for Security following a statement said, the militants including their commanders joined peace process who were actively operating against the Afghan government and NATO troops in various regions of Afghanistan in the past.

The source further added, at least 50 militants including their commander Qodratullah joined peace process in southern Kandahar province while 10 militants joined peace process in western Herat province.

The officials also said, at least 20 militants including their commander Malik Asil surrendered to Afghan government and joined peace process in eastern Nangarhar province.
