45 Afghan soldiers injured in Paktiya suicide bomb blast

According to local authorities in eastern Paktiya province of Afghanistan, at least 53 people were injured following suicide car bomb blast in this province.

Deputy provincial governor Abdul Rahman Mangal said the suicide bomber attacked an Afghan military compound at Zurmat district with a minimum bus packed with explosives.

Mr. Mangal further added at least 45 Afghan national army soldiers were injured following the blast however their health condition was satisfactory.

In the meantime an official in provincial hospital said at least 8 Afghan civilians were also injured following.

The health official said the civilians were injured due to shattered glasses and a 14 year old girl died due to heart attack following the blast.

Taliban militants group claimed responsibility behind the incident and said heavy casualties were incurred to Afghan and coalition security forces.

Paktiya province located in eastern Afghanistan borders neighboring Pakistan where militants groups including Taliban and Haqqani isnurgents are actively operating.
